College Station Weekend

We went this College Station this past weekend to go to final review. This was something that Chad did at the end of his every year in the Corps. It is basically a bunch of marching and saluting :) if you ask me. They march into the stadium like they do at football games, but then stop in a spot on the field (usually..but this year they had to do it on the track), then they have a fly over, and finally they salute a few times. Next they march off to their dorms and come back as they would next year. The 2nd pass is done the same way, but now it's next years corps members minus the fish. So if they are a freshman, they would march the 1st pass as a freshman but then they would come back on the 2nd pass as a sophomore. Maybe confusing??

The reasoning behind why we went this year is because when Chad's freshman when he was a senior are now juniors. Junior year is when you get to wear your boots for the first time on the 2nd pass because you will be a senior next year. Kind of a big deal and the tradition is that Chad's class would come back for this and pull their boots at the end of final review. Unfortunately when Chad was a junior his upperclassmen did not come back :(. So Chad's class made up for that.

This was some very intense boot pulling.

We had a lot of fun. We were able to eat at a few restaurants we missed...La Bodega, Wings, Shakes :)...and see a few people we hadn't seen in a while. I am so glad we were able to go!!!

This is a picture of the Laughlin AFB crew that were Outlaw 8 members! The couple of the far left live in the house diagonally behind us and the couple in the middle live a few duplexes down on our street. Then the couple on the far right....well they are the best and most gorgeous!!! :)
